Mission Planner

Plan the M30T mapping mission the way you would in DJI Pilot 2: , altitude, , route, camera angle and takeoff point. This week’s plan starts with deliberate problems — find and fix them. Then keep Week 2 identical.

Predict first

A 32 m tower crane arrives in week 5. What does it force you to change — and what does that cost?

Pre-flight checks
  • Site coverage

100% of the construction limit has fair-or-better coverage (need 97%).

  • Tower crane clearance

The crane is 32 m tall and the route passes over its swing radius. Fly at least 42 m (or re-plan with the crane operator).

  • Takeoff point

Clear of hazards, on grade, with line of sight to the site.

  • Camera angle

Nadir (−90°): standard for orthomosaics and repeatable comparison.

  • Battery

7 min planned = 28% of the 25-min classroom planning figure.

  • Altitude limit

    Under 400 ft AGL.

Hint
The crane is the tallest thing on site. What does that mean for altitude — and for GSD?

Week 1 vs Week 2

Change the site, not the experiment

Save a passing plan above as your Week 1 reference. Then change the site week, and plan Week 2. Try changing a setting on purpose to see why comparison becomes less reliable.
