What TerraForge is
An interactive training and operational companion for construction-progress mapping with the DJI Matrice 30T, DJI Pilot 2 and DJI Terra. The Terra Simulator, datasets and 3D models are educational simulations inspired by the workflow — not DJI software, not affiliated with or endorsed by DJI, and containing no DJI code or assets.
Not survey-grade
Our M30T workflow supports progress monitoring, documentation, inspection and educational analysis. It does not produce survey-grade deliverables. Camera figures (GSD, footprints, flight times) are approximations for teaching; always confirm real mission values in DJI Pilot 2.
Aircraft control
Field Mode is a checklist and log. It never connects to or controls the aircraft. Fly with DJI Pilot 2 under your Remote Pilot in Command and your program’s procedures and authorizations.
Privacy
No accounts, no analytics, no server-side student data. Progress, notebook entries, observations and snapshots stay in this browser (localStorage). Students use class-assigned operator codes, never names. Progress codes and DroneOps status packets contain operator code and scores only. Launch links ignore any parameter other than project, week, stage, session and mission.
Real project imagery
The public code ships with a demo site only. A deployment can point TERRAFORGE_SITE_MANIFEST_URL at weekly orthomosaics hosted somewhere the school controls; they are shown in the Time Machine. Private project imagery is never committed to the repository.
Accessibility
Keyboard navigation throughout (arrow keys on maps and 3D views), visible focus, status shown with icons and text as well as colour, patterned change maps, reduced-motion support (Settings or system), text/2D alternatives for every 3D task (Lite mode), and captions for every animation stage.
Hamptonian DroneOps
TerraForge can be launched with safe context (/mission?project=construction&week=6&stage=processing) and records training, checklist, mission, QC and report events for DroneOps. See status packet and /api/integration.
